Paul Jacobs

Since arriving in Montreal, Paul Jacobs has cemented a growing reputation as one of the city’s truly prolific, eccentric artists, both as the drummer of Pottery and through fronting his own five-piece band. He’s known for self producing multiple albums annually always accompanied by captivating live performances. From deep emotional melodies to freak out jams, folk pop ballads to synth laced rock and roll epics, along with his hand drawn artwork and animated music videos, Jacobs’ truly creates a world of his own. His sound includes the hooks and rhythms you’d expect from classic rock legends i.e. The Byrds, Fleetwood Mac, and Neil Young, while staying true to his unconventional personal style of composition and production you’d find with artists like Arthur Russel, Kurt Vile and Daniel Johnston. Combining his passion for art and music, modern renaissance man Paul Jacobs pushes through boundaries creating timeless albums.

Pink Dogs on Green Grass is his latest, a highly entertaining album of lightly psychedelic DIY pop that wears its warm, low-fi production like a bathrobe you never end up taking off after getting out of the bath. Brooklyn Vegan
‘Pink Dogs…’ by rights, should herald Paul Jacobs as a true cult favourite. DIY Mag
Jacobs is a musician with an abundance of talent and a melting pot of influences who knows what he's going for on every track [...]. On Pink Dogs on the Green Grass, Jacobs has put himself up there with other psych-rock solo wonders like White Fence, Ty Segall and Morgan Delt. 8/10 Exclaim!
Pink Dogs on the Green Grass bursts at the seams with twinkly keys, acoustic jangle, and clopping bongos, accentuating its sly hooks with sounds from a Summer of Love revival. Pitchfork
Jacobs has wound up creating something more thoughtful, melodious, and organic than he has before. The result is a welcoming warmth of hazy percussion-driven psychedelic rock, showcasing his vast multi-instrumentalist talent and creativity. The Line of Best Fit
[...] Pink Dogs on the Green Grass.
